Ho Hum, More Secrecy re Guatanamo

A reporter for the Miami Herald, Carol Rosenberg, has been writing about Guantanamo since it opened in 2002. As part of her series, she wanted to know how much the special camp (Camp 7) where 9/11 conspirators are kept cost us to build and maintain. Apparently, this is information that is vital to our efforts in the GWOT, as Rosenberg's FOIA request was refused; the government claims it lacks sufficient documentation to comply with the request plus if the government had such a file of documents they would be classified.

Strangely, the government has been able to provide construction costs for all other parts of the complex except Camp 7. Could part of the reason for the government's reticence be the fact that it is seeking $49,000,000 to replace the camp, which apparently was built improperly and is suffering from serious structural defects, including a cracked foundation?
