The article covers only activities in this century, but you can certainly infer that this behavior is not new to this century. Whether it's not maintaining safety equipment or harassing workers who brought up safety issues, BP certainly indicated that it was not very much concerned with the safety of their workers or the environment. In almost every year of this century and in almost every North American site in which BP was involved the company was derelict in its obligation to its workers, its stockholders and to the world's resources.
