Blame the volunteer

Two runners from Kenya were far ahead in the Quad Cities Marathon but didn't win the race because a race volunteer screwed up and diverted the runners off the course. The winner was the first U.S. runner since 2001 to win the race through the Quad Cities along the Mississippi River in Illinois and Iowa. It was his personal best and enabled him to take home the first prize of $3,000.
