The only "escalation of violence" in Nigeria of late, a place which has suffered chronic unrest for years, has been the kidnapping of a three year old British girl, probably taken in mistake for her father given that they seem happy to exchange her for him. Is the oil market really so jittery that one relatively minor incident of that nature can influence world prices? Or, is there some manipulation going on behind the scenes, to the oil company's benefit?
