Damn - I wish women could head up some religion, that would be a great life. Of course there was Mary Baker Eddy. Andrei Codrescu wrote a piece about how a phone connected to her grave is manned 24 hours a day waiting for her to call - said it was good work if you could get it.
Mary Baker Eddy is buried in Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA, where I grew up. The story of the phone being manned is an old one. I think it was true in the early days after her death, but I don't think it lasted too long.
By the way, her tomb is a wonderful piece of architecture in what is one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the Northeast.,
