Researchers from Ohio State think this is a growing problem. The number of injuries in 2010 for injuries related to using a cell phone while walking has more than doubled since 2005, even
though the total number of pedestrian injuries dropped during that time. The study found that young people aged 16 to 25 were most likely to be
injured as distracted pedestrians, and most were hurt while talking
rather than texting.
The number of people considered as being injured while on the telephone was quite small, 1500 in 2010 from 100 hospitals across the country. The researchers feel that most of the accidents go unreported
