As a former (and very poor) student of Alma Driscoll, I'm sure she would be surprised to learn that I went on to become a magazine publisher and writer.
Though I'm sure we did not care for each other much at the time, I had no choice but to remember her lessons. I read the classics, studied historical figures, and saw the language differently as I grew older.
I owe her a debt for being the best teacher I ever had, and I wish her the best of all things.

What a great story.
