Another $800,000,000

Back in July HSBC put away $700,000,000 to cover an expected fine by the U.S. for the bank's money-laundering activities. Well, today the bank announced that, after talks with U.S. regulators, it might be fined at least a total of $1.5 billion plus there may be civil and criminal charges filed.  Unfortunately, the criminal charges will be against the company, not against the people who violated the law.
