They're living in a dream world

The school teachers of Quincy, Ma., have been on strike for three days now. The burning issue? Health care costs. The current contract allows teachers to pay a staggering 10% of their health insurance costs. The proposed contract will double that percentage. How can the city, which pays its teachers more than any other city or town south of Boston, be so callous?

Maybe the teachers should talk to someone who pays 100% of their insurance.

Hey fuckhole, the Quincy teachers never objected to an increase in health care contributions. The point, which you obviously haven't gotten, is that the city's salary offer didn't offset the difference, and amounted to a pay cut. Who the fuck wants to make less next year than this? Would you? Get your facts straight before you rip teachers. You wouldn't last a day in a classroom with the 9th graders of Quincy, you piece of shit.

I hope that you're not a teacher from Quincy. Your language is not something most Quincy parents would not want you to utter in front of their children. Also, you may be using a different type of mathematics than is used on this planet.

At an average annual salary of $50,000 a Quincy teacher will be making $54,636 at the end of three years at the average annual salary increase of 3%. If the teacher had an insurance plan that costs $18,000 a year, he would be paying $1856 more at the end of three years. It looks to me as though he would be putting $2780 in his pocket.
