Military awards are the best

That's apparently what the Sanford, Florida Police Department thought.  So, they awarded military ribbons - some from WWII - to policemen who had done a very good job, even though some had never served in the military.  They have stopped doing so as the result of veterans protesting the practice, which was revealed in a photograph taken at the Zimmerman trial.
