"We cannot accept this kind of behavior from partners and allies"

That's a quote from Francoise Holland, president of France when he heard that the U.S.A. had bugged the embassies of France and other allies and eavesdropped on European Union diplomats around the world.  He was soon joined in his condemnation of these espionage efforts by other European leaders.  Our approach was a little different when we were being spied upon by Israel.  We arrested the spy, Jonathan Pollard; he was convicted in 1987 and is still in jail. I think it is very likely that our allies also spy on us, mainly for political information.
