Is climate change the real driver of our revolutionary world?

David Warsh thinks it is playing a prominent role. His argument is that climate change has affected farm production, which, in turn, has affected food prices, which have been one of the prime sparks of the uprisings in Egypt and elsewhere.

The argument does have merit. How much? You tell me.

I think it goes much deeper than just food production. Coupled with the effects of climate change comes a looming oil scarcity. It seems likely the main producers have been overstating their reserves for sometime. Jim Bliss over at 'The Quiet Road' (http://numero57.net/2011/02/09/wikileaks-on-peak-oil/) has some interesting stuff to say on this topic.

Given that Jim can research these facts so thoroughly, it's obvious those who hold the reigns of power are already fully aware of them. It means we're being lied to.

Couple the economic effects of climate change with oil prices soaring off the chart, and you have a recipe for total economic collapse.

Will the wealthy just sit and wait for it to happen?
