A Different Bus Crash

This one looks as though the driver was not at fault; he was not tired, he had a good driving record, the bus was traveling during the day. Also, the bus appeared to be in good condition. Plus, the owner of the bus was forthcoming in speaking to the media. These circumstances have not been seen in the numerous other bus accidents in the past couple of years. In New York state alone there have been 446 moving violations issued to bus companies so far this year.

But accidents happen to all of us. The cause was a blown tire. Here's what the owner had to say about the tires, “We lease the tires on our buses. We pay by the mile. So there is no incentive to run a tire past its prime.”
