Jeremy Scahill makes a pretty good argument that it is going on in Somalia. The CIA has built a new compound at which they are holding counterterrorism programs for Somali agents. The agency is also involved in interrogations of suspected terrorists, some arrested in Somalia, some elsewhere and brought to the prison. Somalia has been designated as an active haven for terrorists. Ergo, anything goes: renditions, intense interrogations, Special Ops raids, drone attacks.
I thank God every day that our nation is so determined to protect its people.
