The photo above shows swimmers at Qingdao, China. They are swimming in an absolutely huge algae bloom; it covers 7,200 square miles and is still growing. This is not a new phenomenon. It first occurred in 2007.
The photo below shows a couple of swimmers in the crystal clear waters of Martha's Vineyard.
